VACATION RENTAL INFORMATION

DEPOSITS: We require an advance rent deposit of half the total rental for your stay, in order to hold your reservation. A $50 refundable security deposit may be required, and returned to you after your stay, less any deductions necessary to pay for “extraordinary” damage to the house or its contents. We also charge a one time non-refundable cleaning fee for which we do the house cleaning and laundry after your departure. For some of the ‘pet friendly’ homes there may be an additional non-refundable cleaning fee for the pets.

 

Deposits are due by return mail, unless otherwise stated, and included along with this completed form,  within 10 business days after receiving this form. We accept personal checks or cashiers checks only.

 

Balance is due 10 days before arrival date.

 

ROOM TAX: Also included in your total balance due, is a room or lodging tax applicable to whichever city/or county in which you are staying.

 

REFUNDS: You will need to CANCEL your reservation 30 days* before arrival date in order to receive a deposit refund.  Otherwise, we will hold your deposit until the reservation date, while attempting to re-book the house.  If we are able to re-book the house, we will gladly refund your deposit. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR EARLY CHECKOUTS. *CANCELLATIONS FOR JULY AND AUGUST MUST BE MADE BY MAY 1.

 

CHECK-IN: 4:00 P.M.: Early check-ins are a challenge during the busy summer months, since quite often another tenant is checking out that very same morning. We trust that you understand the logistical time sensitive nature to preparing each home, so that it is clean and ready for each guest! **Your house keys will be either under the door mat, or in a keybox on the house, and you will be given the keybox code.**

 

Cleaning supplies are provided for use during your stay, as well as paper products, linens, towels, dishes and cookware. Just bring your food!

 

WE WILL ASK YOU TO PUT OUT THE TRASH CANS FOR PICK UP, ON TRASH DAY, IF YOU’RE HERE. WE’LL REMIND YOU OF THAT LITTLE CHORE WHEN YOU ARRIVE!

 

CHECK OUT: 11:00 A.M.:  Although a housekeeper will be cleaning after your stay, we ask you to start a load of linens, wash your dishes, put your trash in the outside cans, and take your food from the refrigerator when you leave.

 

OUR HOMES ARE ALL OWNED BY INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES, AND ARE THEIR SECOND ‘HOMES AWAY FROM HOME’. WE ACT AS THEIR AGENTS AND WE MUST, THEREFORE, STRICTLY ADHERE TO OUR OWNERS’ WISHES: NO PETS (EXCEPT IN HOMES WHERE STATED), NO SMOKING, ABSOLUTELY NO ILLEGAL DRUGS, NO MOTOR HOMES OR CAMPERS PARKED ON THE PREMISES, AND WE LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE AND CARS WHO CAN STAY IN THEIR HOUSES DURING THE RENTAL PERIOD.

P.S.:  Winter can be a spectacular time at the Coast, and we enjoy sharing it with you ~ exciting storms with lots of wind, blowing sand and horizontal rain!  Then, surprisingly warm and calm days after the storms, with interesting tides.

 

However…along with the fun sometimes come power outages, water line breaks, interrupted cable TV, and phone service.

 

We have candle and matches in our houses, but the rest is out of our control. We don’t give refunds for weather-related inconveniences, but we will certainly try to do whatever we can to help you adjust to these situations. We encourage you to bring books you haven’t had a chance to read yet, games, or art projects that you want to work on…..binoculars, books on whales, or birds, hiking gear, raingear, and a small bucket….for shells & agates!!

 

And…if you’ve made a reservation but find, at the last minute, that the passes are closed, or you are snowed in and can’t get over the mountains to the Coast, we’ll gladly refund your deposit and/or arrange a later visit for you.

 

 

 

EMERGENCIES:  If there is an emergency, please call our office at 541-563-5913 or after hours emergencies call 541-961-3765.  Please use after hours number ONLY FOR EMERGENCIES, as there may be a fee charged for some after hours emergency calls.

 

 

LEGAL STUFF:

 

Guest acknowledges and authorizes Sweetland Vacation Rentals to charge Guest for all damaged and/or missing items or any extra cleaning charges to the premises while occupied by the Guest or Guests Visitors.

 

Guest agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Home Owner and Sweetland Vacation Rentals for any loss, liabilities, claims, demands, damage, theft, cost or expense whatsoever arising from or related to or in connection with any claim or litigation associated with their use and occupancy of the rental property including but not limited to any claim or liability for personal injury or damage or loss of property incurred or sustained by them, any visitor and/or other person(s), except any caused by the willfully or intentionally negligent acts of the Home Owner or Sweetland Vacation Rentals.
